It is customary for the temple administration to count the offerings paid by the devotees in the bills in Samayapuram Mariamman Temple twice a month.Accordingly, for the first time this month, the bills were opened and counted in the presence of Temple Joint Commissioner Kalyani and Hindu Religious Charities Department officials.
Out of this, Rs 45 lakhs, 3 thousand 27 cash, 1 kg 17 grams of gold, 1 kg 390 grams of silver, 42 foreign currency and 334 foreign coins the temple administration said that it has been received.
Temple staff and volunteers were involved in counting the money offerings.
